Trex Deck Rebuild in Santa Maria, California
The front porch on this Santa Maria home was worn out. We tore it down to the framing, rebuilt the structure, and finished it in Trex composite decking in Pebble Grey.

Tear-off and assessment
We pulled up all the old decking so we could see what was underneath. Near the coast, fog and moisture get into any spot that wasn't sealed or fastened right. Anything soft or undersized came out.
New pressure-treated framing
New pressure-treated joists and beams went in, spaced for composite decking so it stays flat. We re-fastened the ledger to the house and sloped the frame slightly so water runs off.
Squared, level, and ready for decking
Composite boards show every dip in the frame under them, so we checked everything for level and square before any decking went down. The roof stayed in place the whole time.
Pebble Grey Trex decking
We used Trex because it holds up to Central Coast weather without rotting or needing to be resealed. Boards are evenly spaced with tight cuts around the posts and along the house.
